How Is DogWatch® Installed in Your Yard?

At DogWatch Connecticut, we begin the installation process with an in-home consultation to understand your specific needs and expectations. After determining the best containment solution for your pet, we bury a wire underground to outline the designated containment area. We then install a transmitter with SafeLink FM Radio Technology in an ideal spot, such as your garage or basement, and connect it to the buried wire for seamless operation.

Why Choose DogWatch® for Your Yard Installation?

DogWatch stands apart from other hidden dog fence brands by offering superior dual lightning protection, both external and internal, to safeguard your fence system and your home’s wiring. Plus, the perimeter wire can be fully customized to suit your property layout and preferences. Below are common installation configurations for our outdoor hidden fences:

Basic Perimeter Loop

This is the most popular installation method, where the wire is installed along the entire property boundary, maximizing yard space for your pet. Optional loops can be added to exclude specific areas like gardens, pools, or flower beds within the fence boundary.

Hour Glass (Pinch)

In this layout, the wire is installed on both sides of your house, creating two containment zones—front yard and backyard. This configuration allows you to control your pet’s access to either yard while maintaining a safe boundary around your home.

Backyard Only

This setup restricts your pet’s access to the backyard by installing the hidden fence wire near the front of the house. Alternatively, you can reverse the configuration to limit access to the front yard while allowing full backyard freedom.

Banana Loop

A Banana Loop creates a hidden boundary along one, two, or three sides of your property, making it ideal if you already have a partial above-ground fence. This layout maximizes yard space in the backyard while still protecting the front yard area.

Custom Installation Options If none of these configurations fit your yard or pet’s needs, we’re happy to offer customized solutions. How the Hidden Fence Works

 FM Radio Signal
Safe Link is our patented FM digital technology that provides your pet with maximum protection from unintentional stimulation caused by stray radio signals. DogWatch® is the only system that offers an FM radio transmission, making it the most secure hidden fence system available.

Long Battery Life
With a DogWatch Hidden Fence System, you’ll change the battery less frequently than with other brands. That means consistent containment for your dog and no “hidden” battery costs. Contact DogWatch of Western MA, Inc. dealer for battery replacement.

AutoMemory™
This feature, exclusively found in DogWatch® hidden dog fence systems, constantly monitors and adjusts the training level on your pet’s receiver, assuring he stays in the yard.

FastReact™
Our hidden dog fence receivers offer the fastest reaction time in the pet containment system industry: less than an eighth of a second! If your dog challenges the boundary of the underground dog fence, the receiver reacts before he reaches the wire, not while traveling over it.

Status Light
Only DogWatch® offers a status light to monitor your pet’s receiver collar. It not only confirms that your pet containment system is functioning properly but lets you know the training level the receiver is set to, when the receiver battery is low, and if your pet has recently challenged the boundary of the underground dog fence.

Flexible Training Levels
The DogWatch® hidden dog fence offers a comprehensive range of 20 distinct training levels to accommodate all dog breeds and personalities. All DogWatch systems include a warning signal to alert your dog that he is approaching the boundary. We offer either an audible or vibration alert (great for hearing- impaired pets), teaching him to stay at the warning signal, before he reaches the hidden wire. And you can adjust the training levels yourself, no need for the expense of a service call.
